Montana Moon Productions showcase Artist - Linda Winters / Fine Artist and Printmaker
About the Artist:
Linda Winters grew in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She lived next door to several international famous artists,
and started drawing, carving in stone and printmaking as an apprentice at a very young age. Her favorite medium
is the art of Monotype Painting, and many of the pieces in this gallery reflect this medium. She incorporates
her love of organic subject nature into the paintings, and her work is inspired by the beautiful surroundings
of her childhood.
About the Medium:
Monotype Paintings:
Monotype Paintings are one-of-a-kind paintings. The technique that she uses is to paint the images onto large
metal sheets and then run them through an old fashion press to give a print like appearance. She uses leaves
and peacock feathers as her main subject and motif. These elements become background surfaces to print on, as both
the canvas, and the subject of her work. She physically paints with the feathers for a multi-textured feel and
layers the leaves for rich and depth filled pieces. She has also created several pieces in the show by printing
on aluminum foil and plastic wrap, to form organic forest- like images.
Photo-transfer work with Buddhist Imagery:
The process of this work involves transferring digital images on special coated film and chemical substrates,
and then to watercolor paper. She further enhances the photos by hand dying them with sepia ink, and watercolors.
The framed photos reflect this technique. In addition she mounts the images on to wooden panels as individual art
pieces and combines them into puzzle like mosaic pieces, as larger installations.
